My first film in England

I went to the cinema last Tuesday. Finally !! I was afraid not to understand the plot without reading subtitles, but I really wanted to get back to the big screen after almost three months of abscence. There were a lot of films I wanted to see (The Queen, The Departed, Saw III...) but we finally decided for Little Children - the second feature of Todd Field, director of In The Bedroom, one of my favorites films of the last years. It was easy to convice my cinema companions: Laura, Emanuele and the Inlingua short french girl -I never remember her name. Two hours and a half later, we four were glad to have been able to undertand the story and most of the dialogues. However, at first I didn't like the film very much because it was really slow and dull. But Little Children is one of those films that you digest hours and days later, and only you have assimilated it, you really find out all its virtues. Really good film. And it will always have a significance for me, because it's the very first film I've seen in original version, abroad, in England. Enjoy the trailer!

El pasado martes fui al cine. ¡Al fin! Tenía de miedo de no entender la trama sin leer subtítulos, pero tenía muchas ganas de volver a la pantalla grande tras casi tres meses de ausencia. Había muchas películas que quería ver (The Queen, The Departed...) pero finalmente nos decidimos por Little Children: la segunda obra de Todd Field, director de En la Habitación, una de mis películas favoritas de los últimos años. Fue fácil convencer a mis compañeros de cine: Laura, Emanuele y la chica francesa bajita de Inlingua -nunca recuerdo su nombre. Dos horas y media después, los cuatro estábamos orgulloso de haber podido entender la historia y la mayoría de los diálogos. Sin embargo, al principio no me gustó mucho la película porque era realmente lenta y sosa. Pero Little Children es uno de esos filmes que vas digiriendo horas y días después, y sólo cuando lo has asimilado bien, realmente te das cuenta de todas tus virtudes. Una peli realmente buena. Y siempre tendrá un significado para mí, ya que es la primer película que he visto en versión original, en el extranjero, en Inglaterra. ¡Disfrutad del trailer!
